- "There was a soft, crackling noise, and a shivering light filled the compartment. Professor Lupin appeared to be holding a handful of flames."
- — Professor Lupin uses this spell[src]
This unnamed spell (incantation unknown) was used to conjure flames that could be held in one's hand without burning them.[1] It is also possible that it simply did not burn anyone, as it’s only use was shown to be as a means to create light.
History[]
Professor Remus Lupin used this spell on the Hogwarts Express on 1 September, 1993 to create light when the train was darkened by the presence of the Dementors of Azkaban.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- This may be the same as the Bluebell Flames spell Hermione Granger was so adept at using, or else a related spell.
- It may also simply be the Fire-Making Spell with a Flame-Freezing Charm put on it, used wandlessly.
