"Who's hungry? We've got a freshly baked new trailer for the upcoming collaboration with Food Network, Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking – and a few extra details on this upcoming competition series – launching this November."
— Introduction[src]

Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking is a TV series set in the Wizarding World universe. The show, hosted by Food Network, features teams of professional pastry chefs and Harry Potter fans as they create magical dishes inspired by iconic subjects from the series. Filming took place at Leavesden Studios, the same location where the Harry Potter films were shot. The series is available to stream on Max and also airs on Food Network.[1]

The show was introduced by Kathleen Finch, Warner Bros. Discovery's U.S. Networks Chairman and CEO, during the company's upfront presentation. It is being produced by Warner Horizon, with Bridgette Theriault and Dan Sacks leading production alongside Robin Ashbrook and Yasmin Shackleton from The Old School production company.[2]

Hosted by James and Oliver Phelps (Fred and George Weasley respectively), the series began production in the UK soon and it features special guest stars, including Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), Warwick Davis (Griphook and Professor Flitwick), and Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley).[3][4]

Overview[]

Nine teams of pastry chefs compete across six episodes to create spellbinding showpieces inspired by the Wizarding World, judged by esteemed culinary experts Carla Hall and Jozef Youssef. Each challenge is themed around magical elements. Harry Potter (website) also jokingly hoped none will take inspiration from Rubeus Hagrid's infamous rock cakes.

Filmed at Leavesden Studios, the iconic location of the Harry Potter films, the series promises a nostalgic treat for fans. Viewers can expect appearances from some familiar faces, including Warwick Davis, Evanna Lynch, and Bonnie Wright, who will share behind-the-scenes memories from their time in the Harry Potter films – and perhaps sneak a taste of the contestants’ creations.

The competing teams, each consisting of two pastry chefs, come from diverse backgrounds and locations across the United States of America. The teams are:

  • Kimberly Adams (Milwaukee, MI) and Ashley Cardona (Charleston, SC)
  • Lisa Altfest (Orange County, CA) and Mitzi Reyes (Los Angeles, CA)
  • Hemu Basumatary (Katy, TX) and Riccardo Menicucci (Los Angeles, CA)
  • Zoe Burmester (Brooklyn, NY) and Jordan Pilarski (Ojai, CA)
  • Jess Lewis (Washington, DC) and Jamie Louks (Seattle, WA)
  • Kayla Giddings (Lafayette, LA) and Yohann Le Bescond (Ocala, FL)
  • Juan Gutierrez (Chicago, IL) and Elizabeth Rowe (Dallas, TX)
  • Michael Russ II (Modesto, CA) and Conner Strackman (Smithville, TX)
  • Christopher Teixeira (Chicago, IL) and Miko Uy (Astoria, NY)
