Hawkshead Formation

Three Chasers performing the Formation

The Hawkshead Attacking Formation was a Quidditch tactic named after the hawk, invented by Darren O'Hare.[1] The team's Chasers flew together in an arrowhead towards the opposition goalposts. The tactic intimidated the opposition, and was effective at forcing players to move aside to allow a scoring opportunity.[2]

History[]

The Hawkshead Attacking Formation was used in a Quidditch match between the Wigtown Wanderers and the Holyhead Harpies.[3]

In 1994, Harry Potter's Omnioculars identified the Irish National Quidditch team using this tactic during the 1994 Quidditch World Cup final.[4]
