The Hebrides Islands are a large group of islands located northwest of mainland Scotland.[1] These islands were the native habitat of the Hebridean Black, a dragon breed which was tended by the wizarding MacFusty clan, who had lived in the region for hundreds of years.[2]
History[]
The Pride of Portree, a Quidditch team, was founded on the Isle of Skye in the Inner Hebrides in 1292, presumably in the town of Portree.[3]
In 1718, the British Ministry of Magic made plans to create a purpose-built wizarding prison on some Hebrides island. This was scrapped by Minister for Magic Damocles Rowle, who decided on using Azkaban instead.[4]
