Hector Podmore was a British wizard who worked as a Minister in the British Ministry of Magic.

Biography

On 6 December 1926, he attended an emergency meeting of the International Confederation of Wizards to discuss the magical disturbances happening in New York, including the death of No-Maj Senator Henry Shaw. When Momolu Wotorson mistakes Newt Scamander for his brother, Hector corrects the delegate, informing him that Newt was actually Theseus's younger sibling. He questioned Newt Scamander about his reasons for being in New York and was sceptical of the reply that he was there to buy an Appaloosa Puffskein.

• Hector Podmore was portrayed by Richard Clothier in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, but was credited only as "British Envoy".
• The title of Minister might indicate that Hector Podmore's role as a diplomat. as there is a position at the Department of International Magical Co-operation called Lead Liaison Minister. Alternatively, it is also possible that Podmore was the Head of Department and had taken it upon himself to act as an envoy given the crisis at the time, as Department Heads at the Ministry of Magic in London were both styled and addressed by "Minister" as well.
