- "Miss Granger remains the only person in this class who has managed to turn a hedgehog into a satisfactory pincushion. I might remind you that your pincushion, Thomas, still curls up in fright if anyone approaches it with a pin!"
- — Minerva McGonagall lecturing Dean Thomas about his inability to perform this spell properly in 1994[src]
This spell (incantation unknown) was a transforming spell that was used to transform a hedgehog into a pin cushion.[1]
History
This spell was covered in fourth year Transfiguration class at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. By October 1994, Harry Potter and his fellow Gryffindor classmates, excluding Hermione Granger, still had not mastered the spell in class, much to the disappointment of Professor McGonagall.[1]
