These letters were written by Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley during the summer of 1995 to their best friend, Harry Potter. Under orders from Albus Dumbledore, however, they were not allowed to tell Harry any news of Voldemort, which greatly frustrated Harry.[1]

It is unknown what the full content of any letter read. Harry mentioned that a few said the following.

Letter one

We can't say much about you-know-what, obviously…

Letter two

We've been told not to say anything important in case our letters go astray…

Letter three

We're quite busy but I can't give you details here…

Letter four

There's a fair amount going on, we'll tell you everything when we see you…

Harry Potter's 15th Birthday card

"I expect we'll be seeing you quite soon". Also contained two boxes of Honeydukes chocolate.
