Herpo the Foul's Horcrux was the first known Horcrux to be created.[1] It was used to make its owner immortal.[1] It is unknown what kind of object it was, nor what defences were placed on it, if any. It is also unknown when, or if, it was destroyed, along with the individual Herpo murdered in order to have created the Horcrux.
