Highwing was a female Hippogriff that lived in the 19th century.[2] Inhabiting the Highlands of Scotland in the 19th century, she regularly found herself the target of wizard poachers, though she was ultimately saved and tamed by an unidentified student.[4]
Biography[]
Between 1877 and 1890, Highwing was rescued from poachers by Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry student Poppy Sweeting. Afterwards, she resided in the area around Hogwarts, where Poppy cared for her and thought of her as her best friend. Poppy introduced Highwing to her friend. Poppy Sweeting was very concerned about her, telling the student she wanted Highwing to be as far away from whatever the poachers were up to as possible.[2][3]
In 1890, Highwing was restrained by poachers and kept in Falbarton Castle. She and another Hippogriff were rescued by Natsai Onai and her friend, after which Highwing became that friend's mount.[4]
