The Hogsmeade Post Office was a building in the village of Hogsmeade that housed at least two–to–three–hundred owls, ranging from great grey owls to tiny scops owls (the latter for "local deliveries only"), hooting down from colour-coded shelves. The shelves were colour-coded based on how quickly they will arrive at their destination.
History[]
During the 1993–1994 school year, Ron and Hermione visited it for the first time they went to Hogsmeade, and later told Harry Potter about it. When Harry used the Marauder's Map to gain access to Hogsmeade, they pointed it out to him, as well as several other shops of interest, including Zonko's Joke Shop.[3]
Later that academic year, Harry and Ron later visited it during Harry's trip to the village under his Cloak of Invisibility. Ron pretended to be checking the price of an owl to his brother Bill in Egypt so that Harry could have a good look around.[4]
