The Hogwarts Board of Governors is a Board of twelve governors which oversees the running of Hogwarts School. The appointment and suspension of a Headmaster is up to the governors. [1] The Board is obliged to take action if parents seek redress on any school-related issues (such as the Buckbeak attack on Draco Malfoy, in September 1993).[2] Lucius Malfoy was once a school governor, but was thrown off the Board in mid-1993 for pressuring the other eleven governors into suspending Albus Dumbledore from the post of Headmaster of Hogwarts. [3] The current twelve governors are unknown as is how they are appointed or removed or what powers do they have besides appointing and sacking Headmasters.
