In August 2023, Avalanche Software had job openings for a "temporary junior software engineer" with the line saying "Join the team behind the blockbuster open world, action RPG Hogwarts Legacy as we create what’s next".[1]
In September 2023, X user MyTimeToShineHello revealed they had sources saying a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy is in development.[2]
In September 2024, Warner Bros. Discovery Chief Financial Officer Gunnar Wiedenfels said that a sequel to the 2023 video game is "one of the biggest priorities in a couple of years down the road".[3]
