"We went up to her office to see her, we took her some daffodils — not the honking ones that Sprout's got, nice ones...."
— Lavender Brown[src]

A honking daffodil was a magical flower that resembled an ordinary daffodil, except for the honking noise that it made.[2][3][1]

History[]

Honking daffodils had existed in the Scottish Highlands at least since the 1890s.[1]

Pomona Sprout grew some in the Hogwarts greenhouses, but Lavender Brown disliked them, preferring to give regular daffodils as a farewell present to Sybill Trelawney instead.[2]

Honking daffodils were mentioned by Tilden Toots on his radio programme Toots, Shoots 'n' Roots. He promised to tell listeners in an upcoming episode what to do if Muggles heard these noisy flowers in their gardens.[3]
