Horntail Hall was a secret dragon fighting den established by the Poacher Pack and located in the area outside of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1890.[1]
History[]
In 1890, the Poacher Pack set up the secret dragon fighting ring and encouraged the villagers of Hogsmeade to bet on it. One evening, it was infiltrated by a student of Hogwarts and their friend, Poppy Sweeting. They saw a group of poachers torturing a newly captured Hebridean Black dragon to subdue it. They intervened and fought the poachers, freeing the dragon in the process. The newly freed dragon ate one of the nearby poachers before burning the rest to death with its fire, with the student and Poppy remaining safe due to well-timed Shield Charms. The student used the Fire-Making Spell on the roof of the fighting ring, burning a hole to the open sky and allowing the dragon to fly away. The student and Poppy also managed to rescue the dragon's egg.[2]
