Household magic,[1] also known as workaday magic,[2] referred to all forms of magic used to perform houseworks and chores. This included spells that washed dishes and did laundry.

In 1926, Queenie Goldstein used this to set up the dinner table and dinner at her apartment.[3] Zamira Gulch wrote a book called Practical Household Magic.[1]
Molly Weasley and Apolline Delacour were noted for their skill with this branch of magic.[4] Andromeda Tonks was also said to have mastered household charms. Tonks stated that she had a knack for charms that effects were neat and tidy.[5]
