- "When everyone was gone, I Transfigured my father's body. He became a bone... I buried it, while wearing the Invisibility Cloak, in the freshly dug earth in front of Hagrid's cabin."
- — Barty Crouch Jnr confesses to murdering his father.[src]
This unidentified spell (incantation unknown) was used to transform human corpses into mere bone.[1][2]
History[]
On 27 May 1995, this spell was used by Bartemius Crouch Jnr to transfigure his father's corpse into a bone.[1]
In 1997, Harry Potter speculated that, if the Death Eaters found it, they would have used this spell, or something similar, on Alastor Moody's corpse to hide it following his death during the Battle of the Seven Potters.[2]
