Ianna Afolayan was an African-British Muggle woman who lived in the 21st century.

Biography

Ianna was born in Birmingham and attended a Muggle school. Once an adult, she got a job at an Internet company. On her first day, she didn't knew where to go or who to talk to, so she read the Employee Handbook cover to cover, four times. Ianna eventually got a position as Senior Human Resources Specialist at the company.

In the 2010s, while on her way to work, her car broke down. Her phone did not work, so she had to use a telephone box to call for a tow truck. Inside the telephone box, she heard a voice asking strange questions and then everything started shaking. Unbeknownst to her, Ianna had accidentally used the visitor's entrance to the British Ministry of Magic.

Once inside, she drank an altered Confusing Concoction that the Frey twins had been distributing as a prank to avoid having work given to them during their participation in the Ministry of Magic Work Experience Programme. Ianna ended up in the Auror Office, where she was found by another Hogwarts student participating in the programme. They figured out that Ianna was a Muggle and were later found by their mentor, Ewan Ward, who told them to Obliviate her. The student wasn't so sure about casting the spell themselves, so Auror Morag Campbell helped them, but the Confusing Concoction Ianna had drunk stopped the spell from taking effect. Morag decided to stop before she could do any lasting damage to Ianna, and let the Reversal Squad deal with her properly.

After Ewan captured the Frey twins, he told the student to return to Hogwarts, but the student decided to stay and help. Ewan then bound Ianna and allowed the student to keep an eye on her.
