Minister Ignatius Tuft was Minister for Magic from 1959 to 1962. Tuft was a hard-liner who capitalised on his mother Wilhelmina Tuft's popularity to gain election for a single term. He promised to institute a controversial and dangerous Dementor breeding programme and was forced from office in 1962.[2]
