"Just like the name suggests, this book is all about the most important magical discoveries of modern times."
— Description[src]

Important Modern Magical Discoveries is a book, which its title suggests, is about the most important and noteworthy magical discoveries in modern times. This book could be found in the Hogwarts Library by the 1987–1988 school year.

History[]

"He wasn't in Great Wizards of the Twentieth Century, or Notable Magical Names of Our Time; he was missing, too, from Important Modern Magical Discoveries and A Study of Recent Developments in Wizardry."

In the 1987–1988 school year, the Hogwarts Library copy of this book had been in someway damaged, much to Irma Pince's ire.[1]

Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger consulted this book in the 1991–1992 school year while searching for information on Nicolas Flamel.[2] They did not find any information about him in the book and later realised that, as Flamel was over six hundred years old, this and the other books they consulted were unlikely sources of information.[3]
