Instant Darkness Powder was a magical powder invented by Garvin Lügner in the late 18th century, presumably intended as a variant of Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder. However, unlike the true substance, which provides a darkness so absolute that the Wand-Lighting Charm can barely penetrate it, Garvin's powder merely slightly dimmed the lights. However, this did not discourage Garvin from falsely claiming he had invented the Wand-Lighting Charm to remedy the effects of his powder.[1]
