This '''[[rat]]''' was acquired by [[Jacob's sibling]] around the [[1988–1989 school year]], when [[Charles Weasley|Charlie Weasley]] asked them to help his brother [[Percy Weasley|Percy]] with Percy's pet [[Peter Pettigrew|Scabbers]]. Scabbers had been acting oddly during that time and Charlie believed that being around another rat might help him calm down.<ref name="TWS" />
