Jacob Kowalski was an American No-Maj who lived in the 20th century. He is an aspiring baker who ran into Newton Scamander when he stopped in New York City on his travels to find and document magical creatures.[2] He was clean-shaven[3] and spoke with a Brooklyn accent similar to that of the comedian Lou Costello.[4]
