Jade Ogugua is an actress who portrayed Hermione Granger in the Year 7 and 8 cast of the original West End Palace Theatre production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. She started on 17 October 2023.[1][2][3][4] She was temporarily replaced by Naana Agyei-Ampadu due to maternity leave.[5]
Calling her character an "icon" in an interview, Ogugua read the Potter books in 2024. She also recalled her younger brother used to call her "Hermione" and had said "favourite thing is being able to move the wand to the sound, and getting it just right! [Laughs] There's one where I do it in quick succession three times, and I can't believe it, I'm so upset. I've actually hurt my back!" [6]
