Jamaica was an island country situated in the Caribbean Sea.[1]

Magical games and sports

Jamaica had its own national Quidditch team.[2][3] It qualified for the 2014 Quidditch World Cup, but was eliminated during the first round, in a match against the American team.[2][3] There was initially some suspicion that America's victory was the result of crowd interference, as the Jamaican team's Keeper, Kquewanda Bailey, fell off of her broom and had to be rescued by the referee seconds before the American Seeker, Darius Smackhammer, beat Jamaica's Shanice Higgins to the Snitch.[2] The ICWQC investigated, concluding that Bailey's collapse was the result of an infected Sasabonsam bite, not crowd interference.[3]

Magical education

Jamaican witches and wizards have the option of attending Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the United States of America.
