Jazz is a music genre that originated in the United States of America in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, having its roots in blues and ragtime. It is characterised by swing, blue note, and improvisation. Due to its popularity at the time, the 1920s are sometimes referred to as the "Jazz Age".[1]
Wizzjazz[2] was a wizarding subgenre of jazz music: Celestina Warbeck's 1960s hit song A Cauldron Full of Hot, Strong Love was "particularly jazzy",[3] as was 1920s song Blind Pig, performed by a female goblin singer.[4]
