Jennifer Smith portrayed Lavender Brown in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban,[1] she replaced Lavender's former actress Kathleen Cauley who played her in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Though Smith had a non-speaking role she appeared frequently in the film.
Actress Jessie Cave was recast as Lavender for the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and was cast in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2..[2]
For several years there was confusion over who Jennifer Smith was as another black-British actress, Kandice Morris, played a notable Gryffindor female and for a long period it was believe she was Lavender. However it later was discovered she was a character made for the films called Kellah, much like the character Bem.
