Johnson family

Johnson was the surname of a wizarding family. It is unknown whether they were a pure-blood wizarding family, a Muggle family, or had both Muggle and magical heritage. They had branches in Great Britain and the United States of America. They were related to the wizarding Weasley family, and more distantly to the Black, Prewett, Delacour and Potter families, as well as the magical members of the Muggle Granger family.

Etymology[]

Johnson is an English and Scottish surname meaning "son of John."^[1] John is an English male given name, which ultimately derives from the Hebrew name Yochanan, meaning "God is gracious."^[2]
