Josefina Calderon was a Mexican witch and Healer in the 17th century who became the wife of Chadwick Boot, one of the founders of Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The couple established the Calderon-Boot family, which remains one of America's most prominent wizarding families today.[1]
Magical abilities and skills[]
- Healing magic: As a professional Healer, Calderon would have been very accomplished with medical magic, such as with healing spells, potions and other magical remedies.[1]
Etymology[]
Josefina is a Spanish name meaning "made bigger by god".
While Calderón is a real surname, it was probably picked because of its similarity with "caldero", meaning "cauldron".
Behind the scenes[]
- Josefina was not featured on the Sayre family tree on Pottermore, but was however on the Gaunt family tree.[2]
