Julianne Hough (born 20 July 1988 in Salt Lake City, Utah) is an American actress who portrayed a Gryffindor student in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.[1]

She is one of the few American actors who have appeared in the Harry Potter films. Her brother, Derek Hough, also appeared in Philosopher's Stone. The siblings studied dance under Mark Ballas's parents in London as children, and were recruited to appear in the film from their performing arts school.[2]

Hough is best known as a country music singer and professional dancer. She was a pro dancer on Dancing with the Stars, on which she won two times. She dated Ryan Seacrest until mid-March 2013.
