Kata Tjuta was a group of large, domed rock formations located southwest of Alice Springs, in the southern part of the Northern Territory, central Australia.[1]

During his travels to document magical creatures when he was writing Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in 1925-1926, Newt Scamander collected a Billywig in Kata Tjuta, during the month of November.[2]
