Ketupa Blakistoni Doerriesi Seebohm was a subspecies of the Blakiston's fish owl, and was larger than normal with a large white patch on top of the head, a less marked tail, and incomplete bars. These owls were said to be loyal and friendly to those they cared about.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- It is a possible pet of the Muggle-born player's avatar in Harry Potter: Magic Awakened.
- In the real world, Ketupa blakistoni doerriesi is a Blakiston's fish owl subspecies first described by the ornithologist Henry Seebohm.[2] In glossaries or other such lists, species' latin binomial names are often listed with the surname of the person that first described them afterwards (like "Ketupa blakistoni doerriesi Seebohm" or "Ketupa blakistoni doerriesi (Seebohm)"), so evidently some kind of error in translation has resulted in Seebohm's name being assimilated into the actual name of this owl in-universe.
