The ladybird is a species of small beetle which can be found everywhere around the world. It was a possible corporeal form of the Patronus Charm. The Patronus of Symposia Rawle took the form of a ladybird, which was exceptionally powerful, in spite of its minuscule size.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- 'Ladybird' is the term used in Commonwealth, however the official name for this family of beetle is 'coccinellidae'. Other nations and groups give various names to the same beetle, including:
- 'Ladybug' - a term which originates from North America.
- 'Lady cow' - another term used, however from an unknown origin.
- 'Ladybird beetle' or 'lady beetle' - the preferred term of entomologists.
