"Is this all real? Or has this been happening inside my head?"
The topic of this article is of a real-life subject that has been mentioned "in-universe" in a canon source. The Lamb and Flag is a Muggle pub, located on Rose Street in London, England. Some Muggles believe the Lamb and Flag to be the oldest pub in London, though others hold it to be the White Hart on Drury Lane, or the Angel on Bermondsey Wall. All of these people are wrong, however, as the Leaky Cauldron on Charing Cross Road is actually older, though that pub is a wizarding location and therefore hidden from Muggles.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- According to Pottermore, the Leaky Cauldron was built in the early 16th century, and is older than the Angel. In reality, the Lamb and Flag occupies a building constructed during the Tudor era, but did not become a licenced premise until 1623.[2]
