Le Cri de la Gargouille (in English, The Cry of the Gargoyle) was a newspaper published in Paris, France covering events in the Wizarding world. In June 1927, the cover story concerned a catastrophe at a circus and a reward being offered for the capture of Credence Barebone.[1]

Behind the scenes
- It is possible that it is the same newspaper as the one that reported about Gellert Grindelwald in the first Fantastic Beasts film.
- It is possible that the Cri actually employs one or more animate gargoyles as part of its staff, though the name might simply be metaphorical.
- Regardless, it is likely that the paper's association with gargoyles was chosen by Rowling because of the famous gargoyle statues of Notre-Dame de Paris, one of the most famous monuments in France.
