Lee family

Lee was the surname of an old pure or half-blood^[2] family in Britain. They were known for having two members of the family who joined the Death Eaters, and were personally visited by Voldemort in their family house before the end of the First Wizarding War. Barnaby Lee's parents were later imprisoned in Azkaban.^[3]

The Lee family was once much more numerous and well respected. However, their numbers had started to decline during the 20th century until there were only a handful of Lees left during the 1980s and 1990s.^[1]

Once every generation, the family gathered together for the Lee Family Toast, a family tradition that went back as far as anyone in the family could remember. During the 1986–1987 school year, Barnaby Lee was chosen as the Toast Giver, who was responsible for giving an important speech in front of all his relatives.^[1]
