The Lestrange Mausoleum was a large building located at the Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, France and housed Corvus Lestrange's (IV)'s tomb, Corvus Lestrange (I)'s grave and many other coffins of countless members of the ancient wizarding Lestrange family.[1]
History[]
In 1927, the notorious Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald called for a rally underneath the mausoleum. He gave an inspiring speech to a huge crowd of his followers regarding the future and his views on Muggles, but was interrupted by Aurors, which caused a furious and lethal battle to break out.
Behind the scenes[]
- Judging from the map of Père Lachaise Cemetery that Grindelwald handed Credence Barebone,[2] the Lestrange Mausoleum's location is, in real life, the location of the mausoleum of Casimir Périer, a prominent French banker and political leader who was Prime Minister of France from 1831 to 1832.
