This mausoleum was a large building located at the Cimetière du Père-Lachaise in Paris, France and housed the tombs of countless members of the ancient wizarding Lestrange family.[1]
History
- In 1927, the notorious Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald called for a rally underneath the mausoleum. He gave an inspiring speech to a huge crowd of his followers regarding the future and his views on Muggles, but was interrupted by Aurors, which caused a furious and lethal battle to break out.
Behind the scenes
- Judging from the map of Père-Lachaise Grindelwald handed Credence Barebone,[2] the Lestrange Mausoleum is located where, in real life, is the mausoleum of Casimir Périer, a prominent French banker and political leader who was Prime Minister of France from 1831 to 1832.
