Ling (also known as heather) is a low-growing shrub that can be distinguished by the purple flowers it sprouts in late summer. It grows abundantly on heathland and moorland throughout Europe.[1]
Armando Dippet had ling and strawberry planted on the grounds of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during his time as Headmaster.[2]
