This is a list of wizards and witches who had reached the oldest ages known. It includes only those who had lived to age 100 or beyond. Individuals of other long-living species, such as vampires, are excluded.
Wizardkind could live much longer lives than Muggles, with the Ministry of Divine Health announcing in the Daily Prophet in 1995 that the life expectancy of wizards and witches had reached 137¾ years.[1] Some were known to have greatly exceeded this expectation, with a few of the eldest known having lived for several hundred years.
However, it was notable that two of the longest lived, Nicolas and Perenelle Flamel, were dependent on the alchemical potion known as the Elixir of Life to achieve their long lives and passed away soon after their supply was depleted, indicating that such ages were not the norm.[2][3]

Behind the scenes[]
- It is unknown for how long Herpo the Foul, a Dark wizard who created a Horcrux, lived for. Given that Herpo was from Ancient Greece, his Horcrux could have allowed him to live for thousands of years, if it remained intact.
