The MACUSA Department of Aurors was a department at the Magical Congress of the United States of America specifically tasked with the capture of dangerous criminals. They operated under the authority of the Magical Congress of the United States of America, presumably in the MACUSA Department of Magical Law Enforcement.[1]
History[]
The American Aurors were, as of the early 20th century, far more numerous and militarised than their British counterparts, carrying ranks such as "Captain" and "Chief",[2] and having several field offices reporting in.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
- It is possible that the Department of Aurors and American Auror Office are the same thing.
- Seen as how J. K. Rowling and Warner Bros. seemingly based the identified chain of command of the Department of Aurors on the real-life police organisation in the United States, including Commissioner, Chief and Captain,[2] it is likely that the corresponding ranks used by MACUSA Aurors are roughly equivalent to their real-life counterparts.
