- "Possessed by poltergeist trickery, these animated mannequins are relentless in the pursuit of their targets but are easily destroyed by many spells."
- — Description[src]
A mannequin was a humanoid dummy that could be animated by poltergeists to maliciously pursue targets. However, they could be destroyed easily with spells.[1]
History[]
In the late 19th century, the poltergeist Fastidio had several sinister animated mannequins inside his chest to target individuals lured down there. When a Hogwarts student entered his chest, they were able to destroy his mannequins quickly with offensive spells.[1]
During the early 1990s, Transfiguration classes at Hogwarts used animated mannequins as target practise for transfiguration spells.[2]
