This female Manticore lived in the Forbidden Forest during the early 21st century.[2]
Biography[]
At some point between the 2008–2009 and 2010–2011 school year, a herd of baby Manticores appeared on the Hogwarts Quidditch pitch, and headed towards the Forbidden Forest. Luna Scamander, Rubeus Hagrid and a Muggle-born student subsequently followed them to the Manticore mother who had taken up residence in the forest.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
- The canonically-inaccurate insectoid look of this Manticore resembled the Manticore in the Erkstag, which was designed by the concept artists of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore in lieu of the established appearance in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (a human's head, lion's body and scorpion's tail), because they desired a more scorpion-like variant of the creature in the film.[3]
