Mars is the fourth planet from the sun and appears reddish in colour.
History[]
Sometime in the mid-to-late 20th century, wizard theoretician Hambledon Quince controversially proposed that wizards originally originated from Mars, and that Muggles originated from mushrooms.
Mars was noticed to be "bright" by two centaurs, Ronan and Bane, whom Harry Potter and Rubeus Hagrid encountered in the Forbidden Forest one night in 1992.[1]
In the 1995–1996 school year, the centaur Firenze pointed out Mars during his first Divination class. He referred to it as the "bringer of battle", and said it indicated that the wizarding world was currently experiencing a brief calm between two wars.
Sybill Trelawney had also discussed Mars in her class, pointing out the fascinating angle the planet made to Neptune with her orrery,[2] and teaching that it caused accidents and burned when in a particular alignment with Saturn. Firenze, however, dismissed this as "human nonsense".[3]
