Marshmallows

Marshmallows

Marshmallows are a confection that consists of sugar, water, and gelatin, softened by warm water, and typically given a squat cylindrical shape.[1]

History[]

Barnaby Lee claimed that he was able to fit twelve marshmallows inside his mouth at once by the time of the 1986–1987 school year. He and Jacob's sibling later set up a campfire party in order to celebrate Fire Dwelling Salamanders, during which the guests ate marshmallows.[2]

At one night during Bill Weasley and his crew's mission to retrieve Urgruff's egg at the Romanian Dragon Sanctuary during the 1989–1990 school year, they ate marshmallows beside a campfire.[3]

Harry Potter and Ron Weasley roasted marshmallows along with crumpets during the Christmas holidays in the 1991–1992 school year.[4]

In 1994, before Harry Potter was about to go face the Hungarian Horntail in the first task of the Triwizard Tournament, his legs felt to him like marshmallows.[5]

On 2 September, 1995, when Harry and Ron were studying dream interpretation in Divination, Ron stated that he dreamed about playing Quidditch the other night and asked what Harry thought it meant. Harry, uninterested in the exercise, suggested that maybe it meant that he was going to be eaten by a giant marshmallow or something as he turned through the pages of The Dream Oracle.[6]
