This Matagot lived in the Magical Creatures Reserve in the 1980s.[1]
Biography[]
In the 1980s or early 1990s, Jacob's sibling would often bond with and feed this Matagot.[1]
During the 1988–1989 school year, Jacob's sibling noted that another Matagot that was seemingly threatening Mrs Norris acted more aggressively than this Matagot.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- The Matagot's name, just like all creatures in the Magical Creatures Reserve, can be customised by the player. The dialogue of the quest will subsequently change according to the name determined by the player.
- Despite previous canon materials, including the "No Strings Attached" side-quest in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, stating that Matagots duplicate when hit by spells, this Matagot appears to be able to duplicate when food is given to it. Moreover, although the duplicated Matagot is present in both the Matagot's feeding and max-level interactions, it is not present during the creature's idle animation. However, this is likely simply due to game mechanics.
