"Today I will be teaching you to brew a Memory Potion. If your marks on the last exam are any indication, many of you could use this potion. Be aware, however, that using such potions during my exams will get you expelled."
Professor Snape to his sixth-year Potions students[src]

A Memory Potion was a potion which improved the drinker's memory, boosting their mental cognition.[1][2]

History

In the 1985–1986 school year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Professor Severus Snape taught Jacob's sibling and Chiara Lobosca how to brew this potion, which they later did, in order to help Pippa Macmillan recall details about an event where she was attacked by a white creature.[5]

During the 1988–1989 school year at Hogwarts, Merula Snyde and Jacob's sibling collected Alihotsy, Peppermint, Eel eyes and a Jobberknoll feather in order to brew this potion.[4]

In the 1989–1990 school year at Hogwarts, Professor Snape taught this potion to sixth-year students in Potions class.[2]

Aberforth Dumbledore kept many bottles of the Memory Potion in the cellar of the Hog's Head Inn.[6]
