- "Good evening, class! Today we will be studying the debris left in the wake of a comet. Or, to put it in more exciting terms, Meteor showers! You are allowed one wish on these so-called shooting stars. Make it good one! Tonight we will be learning about a different type of shower."
- — Professor Sinistra to her students regarding Meteor showers[src]
A meteor shower is the debris left in the wake of a comet. They were usually named after constellations.[1]
History[]
During her studies at Cambridge University in the late 19th century, Suchrita had made various advances in the field of meteor showers.[2]
During the 1989–1990 school year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Professor Aurora Sinistra taught her sixth-year Astronomy students about meteor showers in an evening class.[1]
