Mint is a genus of strongly scented herbs.[3] Peppermint and spearmint were particular varieties of mint.[1][4]
Description[]
Mint had healing and cooling properties and was used in wizarding remedies: dried mint leaves were used in the treatment of mad dog bites,[2][5] as well as the Fire-Breathing Potion.[4] Mint was also used to flavour certain sweets, such as mint humbugs and after-dinner mints.
History[]
Penny Haywood's father grew mint in his garden,[6] and it was possibly an ingredient in Penny's best-ever hot chocolate.[7] Jae Kim also grew his own mint plant and used it to flavour his Cauldron Cakes.[8]
