- "Well, now we're all here — time to fill you in! When the audience has assembled, I'm going to be offering each of you this bag — from which you will each select a small model of the thing you are about to face! There are different — er — varieties, you see."
- — Ludo Bagman informing Triwizard Tournaments about these objects before the first task[src]
Model dragons[3] were magical, realistic models of various types of dragons such as; Hungarian Horntails, Chinese Fireballs, Swedish Short-Snouts, and Common Welsh Greens.[1]
Uses[]
These models had various usages, such as roasting chestnuts and presumably other foods.[2]
Most notably, they were used by the Triwizard Tournament champions who each drew small model dragons out of a silk bag prior to the first task. The type of model indicated which dragon they had to face. A long time after the second task, the miniature figurine of Viktor Krum was seen trying to fight Harry Potter's dragon model at the Gryffindor Boys' Dormitory.[1]
In Diagon Alley in August 1996, there was a dragon model in the roast chestnuts sale machine.[2]
