Modern Magical History is a book about recent events in the history of the wizarding world. Harry Potter's first defeat of Lord Voldemort is covered in this book.[1]

Hermione Granger got a copy of this book for additional background reading about the wizarding world prior to her first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1991.[1] A copy was also kept in the Hogwarts Library.[2][3]
